Everything people ask

If the answer you want isn’t here, just ask — we’ll add it.

Getting started

Usually within a week — sometimes the same week if there’s room on your area’s round. One-off clears we try to fit in faster, especially if you’ve got an inspection or visitors coming.

No, and most customers aren’t. We need a way in — an unlocked side gate, a bolt you can leave off, a key safe, or a code. We come, we clear, we photograph the gate shut and message you. If the gate turns out to be locked on the day we’ll let you know rather than climbing over it.

That’s fine, it just means we need you (or someone) in at the time, so we’ll agree a slot rather than a “sometime that day”. Plenty of customers are set up this way. We take our boots off or wear covers on the way through.

Yes — pick “one-off” in the quote builder. Plenty of our regulars started that way. There’s no pressure to continue and we won’t chase you afterwards.

Dogs & the garden

We’d rather they weren’t. It’s faster with an empty garden, there’s no risk of a dog slipping out past us, and no dog has to deal with a stranger in their space. If it’s not practical, tell us what your dog is like when you book — we’re not nervous around dogs, we just like to know.

Not at all, and thank you for saying so up front. We’ll work around it — a fixed time so they can be indoors, a text before we arrive, no eye contact, whatever helps. Reactive dogs are common and their owners are usually the most organised customers we have.

Yes, and it needs more than picking. Artificial grass doesn’t absorb, so waste and urine sit in the fibres and the backing — which is why fake lawns start to smell in warm weather even when they look spotless. We rinse and treat it with a pet-safe deodoriser as an add-on. Worth it from about May onwards.

No — that’s urine burn and it’s a lawn treatment job, not a waste removal one. We’ll tell you that honestly rather than taking your money for something that won’t work. Clearing waste promptly does stop it getting worse, though.

We’ll tell you. Blood, worms, an unusual colour or consistency, or a sudden change — you’d want to know, and a vet would want to know. We’re not diagnosing anything, we’re just the people looking at it closely every week, which puts us in an odd but useful position.

Practical stuff

Yes. Rain is most of the year here and the job still needs doing. We postpone only for genuine safety reasons — high winds, ice, flooding — and you’re never charged for a visit that didn’t happen. We’ll message you and pick it up as soon as it’s safe.

Double-bagged and put in your general waste bin, which is the correct route — never the food caddy, never the garden bin, never a drain. If you’d rather it left your property entirely, add “take it away with us” to your quote and we’ll dispose of it ourselves.

Regular customers get a simple invoice at the end of each month listing the visits we actually did, paid by bank transfer. One-off jobs are paid on the day. No direct debit mandate, no card stored anywhere, no app to install.

Any time, no fee, no notice period. Message us and we stop. If you pause for a long stretch, bear in mind the visit you restart with will carry a catch-up charge, because there’ll be a backlog again by then.

Tell us and we’ll come back and sort it, free, as soon as we can get there. Long grass and dusk hide things, and we’d much rather you said than quietly went off us.

Money

BS22, BS23 and BS24 — Weston-super-Mare and nothing beyond it. Hutton and Bleadon are the two exceptions inside BS24; they’re far enough out that the journey would cost more than the job. Each part of town has its own day, so your area decides when we come.

Twice the gap means roughly twice as much to clear, and it takes longer. The per-visit price is higher but the monthly total is lower than weekly — the quote builder shows both so you can compare properly rather than guessing.

No. Genuinely, no. A garden that’s been left is a completely normal reason to call someone, and usually there’s a reason behind it that’s nobody’s business but yours. The quote builder has a “longer… don’t judge” option precisely because people were too embarrassed to say. Pick it, get an honest price, and let’s move on.
