Privacy notice
The short version: we only collect what we need to clean your garden and invoice you for it, and we never sell or share it.
Last updated: 2026. This notice explains how Tidal Tails handles personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Tidal Tails is a dog waste removal service operating in Weston-super-Mare. For any data question, contact info@tidaltails.uk.
What we collect
- Contact details — your name, email, phone number and address, so we can reach you and find your garden.
- Service details — garden size, number of dogs, access arrangements and any notes you give us.
- Photographs — of your gate after each visit, and occasionally of the garden where it helps with a quote. We never photograph people or the inside of your home.
- Access information — key safe codes or gate arrangements where you choose to give them. These are treated as confidential and never written down anywhere public.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your data, share it with marketing companies, add you to mailing lists you didn’t ask for, or use tracking or advertising cookies on this website. There is no analytics script, no Facebook pixel and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
Why we’re allowed to hold it
Contract — we need your details to provide the service you’ve asked for. Legitimate interests — keeping records of visits and invoices to run the business properly. Legal obligation — retaining invoices for the period HMRC requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t become customers are deleted within 12 months. Customer records are kept while you’re with us and for six years afterwards, which is the period required for tax records. Gate photographs are deleted after 90 days unless there’s an ongoing query about a visit.
Where it lives
Contact details and job records are held in ordinary business software and on a password-protected phone and computer. When you submit a form on this site it is delivered to us by email; if a form service is used it processes the message on our behalf and does not use it for anything else.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we’ll do it within a month, usually the same week. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes we’ll update the date at the top. We won’t make a material change and pretend it was always there.
